Need advice - many problems
Well after installing a new 1405 edelbrock 4bbl carb and new intake manifold I've had nothin but problems and have been very unlucky. I found that my distributor cap was toast(3 points were pretty much gone) and also needed new wires. So I went to Advanced Auto parts and one of the techs assisted me in installing the new wires - well after he put the wires on the motor the engine ran terrible. So after messing with the carb a bit I decided to check what he did. It turns he had wires 3 and 4 switched. So I fixed his mistakes and the engine ran a little better but not by much, I had to baby the truck home. Once I got home I adjusted the carb and retimed the motor and took it for a test drive. When I got back my engine bay was drenched with oil from a blown out valve cover gasket(Gasket was litterally installed 2 days ago). Truck still runs like ***.
Any suggestions? I'm going to get new plugs tomorrow.
What should the timing be set at? Its a 351m
