I'm new to the forum and recently picked up a 2001 Ex XLT V10 2wd. Im loving it....I noticed however that sometimes while driving at night the speedometer needle spikes up. It does this when I turn the lights on as well, they spike...other times the right turn signal green arrow will come on stay on for about a min and turn off.
Regarding the speedometer spike, it could be your vehicle speed sensor (VSS) located on top of your rear differential. It could be bad. Your cruise control may be also affected. Easy fix.
Not sure about your other problems. Someone will chime in.
the speedometer spike is usually paired with a flicker of head lights or the right turn signal light stays on as well as the turn signal light on the car. It stays on for 1 min or so but it happens 2 to 3 times in a trip. Not sure if they messed something up when they installed the custom Carbon Fiber center console. I haven't had an issue with the cruise control though.
Turned it on tonight and noticed that my right head light was dipped the right turn signal light was on until I drove it a few yards before the headlight came back.
Sounds like a voltage problem on my right side only...
