2000 ranger
my 2000 ford ranger 4x2 4 cyld. driving down the road shuts down.
found that the coil pack shorted out on cyl. #2 , - replaced coil pack , wire, spark plug - cranks strong but does not start.
i have spark to the plugs, and gas to the injector rail.
used a Mac computer tool and got 3 codes
#1- P1000- test not compleated
#2- P 1410 Differential pressure feeedback exhaust gas recirculation sensor circuit high voltage.
#3- P0340 - camshaft postion sensor circut malfunction
need help ASAP - work truck and i need it back on the road!!

Cam position sensor malfunction. Makes me wonder if the timing belt broke.
Pull the rubber plug out the timing cover, and watch thru the hole as someone cranks the engine. If the pully isn't turning, you've got a bad timing belt.
