4wd high problems

I have a 2004 Expedition Eddie Bauer I noticed that my 4x4 high was not working however the light comes on when I first turn on the truck. When I turn the switch tot 4x4 high I hear the electronic controller immediately click twice but then nothing and no light coming on, when I switch into 4x4 low I again hear the electric controller click once and then it engages the 4x4 low and clicks a second time and the light shows it is engaged. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks.
Doug

Are you in neutral with your foot on the brakes when operating the 4X4 switch?

There are contacts built into the shift motor down on the transfer case that control the dash lights. If the contact or the wire for the 4WDH light were damaged, then the light would not come on.
