My bright light indicator bulb hasn't worked since I got my truck took the dash and gauge cluster loose and found out there's no wires running to the bulbs and don't see any laying loose in there! Anybody know off hand what color the wires are supposed to be and where they come from! Any help would be appreciated!
not positive , but i think most of the lights are just run off of the thin circuit board on the back of the gages , its been a month or so since i have had it apart so i could be wrong.
Did you take an ohm meter and check the bulb to make sure it good? The power comes from the circuit board. You can pull a bulb from another light on the dash that you know that is working and see if it works as the high beam indicator then you will know that the circuit is good.
Haven't got that far took the dash apart and the wife was ready to go for the weekend so ill have to check on sunday when I get back but there want any wires hooked up to it
Instrument cluster lamps are controlled by the printed circuit, there are no wires.
The bulbs fit into plastic sockets (F4UZ-13B765-A > replaced C8OZ-13711-B), which are inserted into the cluster back. The back side of the sockets are shaped so they can be removed by hand.
Cuz someone just asked about these sockets: FYI: Available from Ford, MSRP $1.85 each. Fit myriad 1968/2003 FoMoCo vehicles.
