Kyle1973F1004x4's Build!
The truck ran fine up until i got it back into my town, then everything went downhill from there. It was running terrible and was dumping out white smoke on the drivers side exhaust, then it finally died where I coasted into a chevron. Got out opened the radiator cap... No pressure. So imediately I thought the headgasket blew on that side. From there my dad pulled me home in my moms Hyundai Santa Fe.
Thats when the fun began.
Truck when I got it home. It used to be a hydraulic dump flatbed, but I have sold that and bought a regular bed.

Took out the sparkplugs to find this...

So I got to work and tore the top end off the motor to find this..

Cracked cylinder wall and metal pieces on top of my pistons. Thats why it is pitted to hell and looks all new like.
Metal pieces found in my cylinders ontop of pistons.

So winter came shortly after this.. Truck sat for a while till I dug it out from the snow.

Then I got the truck in my garage where I began taking the motor out.

I measured the stroke and it turned out that this motor was a 360 not a 390.Rolled the truck back outside.

Found an actual 390 for my truck.

Then It sat for a little longer. Broke a exhaust manifold bolt off in my head, so I had to get it out. I broke 2 easy outs trying to get it out. I finally just drilled it out completely.
Then I started taking care of my interior. Took out the seat.

My Old inner fenders where ****ty, so I bought some in better shape.

Then I put my new ones in.

Then I put my new 7 degree C bushings in. Let me tell you that was fun! lol

Then I bought a new clutch and got my flywheel resurfaced.

From there My truck sat outside some more waiting for my engine.

Cleaned up the frame and mounts in the engine bay.

I also cleaned up my frame and put the straps for the gask tank on and sanded and painted the gas tank.

I also cut off extra metal they welded onto the frame for the hydraulic flatbed it had on it.

I then started to put my new engine in.

Then I got her running! She ran a little rought at first but the timing was off, so once I fixed that she now runs a lot better!
After I drove her around for the first time

Recent engine pic.

Here is my bed I picked up for $50

Hope you guy's enjoyed it! I will try and update as much as possible. Thanks for looking!
