Love the pics, and I woulda been so pissed if I bought it and all that happened to me... That truck may have become a parts truck very quickly if it were me..
I'll give ya 75 for the box
I want to know how you got it so cheap also... I need one.
Hey everyone, thanks for all the comments!
First off previous owner told me it was a 6 inch lift. but I'm not 100% sure if it is. Tires im running a 35x 12.50x r15.
The car back there is a comet. An easy way to tell is comet's had bigger bumpers than mavericks. Which is why I prefer the mavericks bumpers over comets.
The guy that was selling the bed wanted 100. But I talked him down to $50. I live in Emmett Idaho.
Ok I havent done to much to the truck recently. I am currently waiting for my Brother in Law to get back so we can use his tractor to put the bed on.
But Yesterday I decided to fix my running light on my fender. what happened was in the process of removing my inner fenders, The wire snapped off from the light bulb housing. Old brittle wires suck lol. So I got one from a junkyard and wired it up. Here are some pics.
After I wired it up
Then I covered them in electrical tape just to be on the safe side.
And here is the old broken one.
Thanks for looking guys, I will try to get some more updates for you all here soon!
Enjoying the write up, nice work! It would have been easy to part it out, glad you were able to resuscitate your dentside. Just a suggestion, if you use the plastic inner-liners from a 77-79 f series truck, it will keep your innner-fenders & fenders rust free for a long time.
Were you tempted to give the 'crate motor' back to the prior owner?
Thanks man! Yeah I was pretty ticked off about the whole engine blowing deal.. It could have been a part out, But I decided that I wanted to stick with it and fix it up
Gotta love Idaho! For the most part, rust free, and nothing is worth anything! You can actually afford to rebuild an old truck.
The prices some of these rust belt people pay makes my stomach turn. Keep up the good work. It is nice to see another person from around here working on an old truck.
Well I'm back with an update. I have been working on getting my gas gauge to work so I can put my bed on. And I have finally done that, I first had to cut off all the rubber boot on the plug for the sender unit so it would fit. The reason I had to do this is because the previous owners put in a different gas tank from an 80's ford I believe.
I then had to wire the new plug to the old wires.
Here is are some pics from a while back.
Enjoy!
