Truck threw the code for Insufficient EGR flow. Did the same last summer, both the DPFE sensor and EGR valve were changed. Since I bought the store brand sensor, I'm betting it went bad. My question is, will this also cause the engine to race when the clutch is pressed in? 2000 Ranger, 2.5L, 5 speed, 158,000 miles.
The DPFE sensor has a line to it that connects to the intake manafold, that if cracked can cause a vacuum leak that might cause idle problems & a P0401 code. so when you changed the DPFE & EGR valve last year, did those lines seem ok, or did you replace them & if so, with OEM quality lines????
