1999 F-350 PSD. The oem sensor that came on the truck lasted 200,000 mile. Ford recalled and replaced the sensor. Now I have been through three of them nad can not get fifty miles out of one. The dealer has given me two of them and I have one that I purchased from Autozone to get home. Any one have any thoughts. The truck runs better than ever with a new cps then abruptly dies and will not start until a new cps is installed.
All the wiring looks good and the connectors are tight as the day they were made.
If I knew where I could get an original cps i would try it. The one from Ford dealer I would hope would work. All the grounds are clean and tight. And the truck has two new batteries.
The mechanic at the dealer has no idea. If they don't know where do you go next? I paid 200 dollars to have them put it on their computer last time they changed the cps. I am not going to throw good money after bad at the dealership.
Dealer Recall one.
Dealer gave two
Bought one at autozone.
That is Three possibly 4 sensors? And can't go 50 miles each ? I wonder if something else is wrong. If you get a Black international CPS from Clay and that one fails, Then it has to be a short/power spike or something. I would absolutely give clay a call and get his black one then you have the best.
Here is the problem. This truck went 220,000 miles on the factory cps. Ford sent a recall notice and it was taken to the dealer for a cps replacement. The first one installed from the recall went about 300 miles. Paid the dealer for a second and now I can not get fifty miles out of it.
I went over the wiring harness and cleaned all the grounds, the batteries are new. If this one fails I will try one from Riffraff. Another fifty dollars I will have to spend on a truck that ran fine until Ford recalled and fixed it.

You might want to order one anyway, I think Clay is running out of them pretty fast.
