Took my truck in for a complete diagnostics. Did the balance test on injectors and they test good. but what they did find is that my oil cooler is really clogged with a spread of 30 degrease. I know this is really bad and needs to be addressed fast. But is this cause of my low power condition I have been having? I havent had any white smoke or any coolant lose. Have I done any internal damage to my engine?
dont know about internal damage id say your fine but id change it out now!!!! before the thing ruptures and then you have a mess on your hands like i did. could be but im thinkin loss of power is somewhere else. techs might know the answer to that but change the oil cooler now!
I'm wondering if you're not getting a PCM mandated defuel/derate because of the high temp spread. I doubt you've done any internal engine damage, but I wouldn't drive it anymore than absolutely necessary until it's repaired. What's your highest EOT?
Thanks guy you's are the best! finally getting to the bottom of this problem will be such a relief. Would It be defueling from the time you start the truck when engine/oil temp is this cold? because Im have the the problem from the time the truck is started. doesnt matter what temp is.
Fuel Filter, (Yes) Fuel Pressure, (No) I have done the blue spring upgrade about 2 mouth ago. Come to think of it that probably around the same time truck started running bad. Is there anything I could have done wrong when changing the spring? Seem to be pretty straight forward took old spring out, put new spring in. Did i miss something?
The threaded port in the secondary filter housing is an M12x1.5 o-ring thread. It needs to adapt to a 1/8" NPT thread for a gauge or sending unit. Also, try glowshift for a fuel pressure gauge which needs to be 100 psi. Heard lots of good things about them and very reasonably priced. The hardest thing is finding the adapter. You might try a hydraulic store/shop if you have one close by. They might be able to make a one piece hose.
