2003 6.0 Diesel (Safe or Limp Mode) ICP sensor

My truck ran fine but ICP sensor was leaking oil. I changed ICP sensor and now my truck is going into safe mode after 10 minutes or so. By safe mode I mean the truck will not allow you to give it throttle and the idle surges and eventually will kill. If you reset computer will start up but back into safe mode it goes. I am about to bring it in but dread too especially knowing I could fix it if I knew what it it is causing this. Please Help!!!

When you changed the sensor did you change the pig tail? when they get oil soaked they sometimes go bad. also welcome to FTE and if we could get Mr. mod to move you to the 6.0 section people smarter than I can help you.

6.0 ICP sensor change

I didn't change pig tail but it ran fine before just leaked oil. How do you change the pig tail? I removed turbo to change sensor. Could I have missed something with installation?

it would help if you could pull codes. You do need to change the pigtail anytime the sensor starts leaking oil. Go by your local dealer and buy a new pigtail for the ICP. That just might fix your problem, but without knowing what codes you have and seeing the HPOP and other pids it's hard to say for sure. I would go ahead and change the pigtail now, since it does need to be changed, and then see what happens.
