Back in to the paymaster

I've heard it said that some people are so lazy that they have to back into the paymaster to pickup their paychecks.

I guess that means they are ashamed.

How do Frenchmen drive through the 'Arch of Triumph'?

Backwards?

I understand that the French found ricin in the baggage car of a train, but it wasn't addressed to them so ...

How many speeds do French tanks have?

5. 4 reverse and 1 forward just in case they are attacked from the rear.
