Talking with a friend of mine tonight, he was telling me about a truck his friend recently picked up. It appears to be an all original 1968 F100 Harley-Davidson edition?? He had been told that this was the first year Ford and HD partnered together on a vehicle. I was wondering if there was any truth to this or has someone been blowing a bunch of smoke? Thanks.
I've never heard of old fords being Harley-Davidson editions I thought they didn't come out until the late 90's or 2000's does anyone know the first year they were introduced?

I forgot to mention in original post, but part of the reason they were talking about this is that it looks original. Emblems on dash and fenders, as well as HD logo embroided into the middle of the bench seat. I have no way of getting pictures right now, but, like you guys, I would love to see this thing. Both of these guys are HD nuts, so I think they're more excited about that part of it, not the fact he's got a really nice old Ford truck.
No such thing as a H-D edition until 2000. A previous owner added all the H-D related items, had the seat redone.
Call FoMoCo's 800 Customer Service number, pass along the trucks VIN, request a copy of the original build sheet...it's free.
For further info, martiauto.com has all the original FoMoCo data for these trucks. There is a fee for Marti's services, which esculates depending on how much info you want.
This is known in the hobby as a Marti Report. One of the items available from Marti is a copy of this trucks specific window sticker.
Most of what makes special editions "special" these days is a bunch of stick on decals, emblems and a nice set of tires. A little digging around on the internet and aftermarket counters and you could make one yourself for very little coin.
This one's digital but it's just a lowered black F100 w/Ranger trim and fancy wheels, orange lower paint, HD badge on the front fender and HD in place of Ranger. Based on the '04 model. Trailer is optional.
