Excursion Center Console Same as Super Duty?
Hi all,
My X has an aftermarket VCP equipped center console and I'm going to go with a DVD head unit. When hunting for a factory center console, should I look only for an Excursion unit or will any SD from that era work?

Lots have gone to the square looking 08 + console for the looks. You can go with any from the sd line up, and yes you will lose the audio control, but do u see yourself ever using those controls.
The only thing you need to watch is you will lose the rear speakers if you unplug those controls as the speakers back there are wired thru it. You can take them out from the console, plug them in and tuck them under somewhere. I put in the 20 jump seat up front and have the 12v plug and controls up front under my seat.

What year Expedition is that from? Any mods needed? I could see your gallery pics.

I didn't install the console, it came that way when I bought it. The research I did to find out where it came from leads me to believe it came from an 03 or newer. It fits tight but the arm rests still move up and down. I like how it butts up to the dash and the extra storage space I have.
The previous owner did not hook up the rear speakers so I had to get the rear speaker controls from one of the guys here on the board. I would recommend this upgrade.

I tried that. The message states that you have not set up your gallery. Would it possibly be somewhere else? Sorry I am being difficult.
I did find some that looked similar on e bay. My search has raised a question: What is the black button(?) between the cup holders for? Also, are the buttons above the cup holders on both d/s and p/s? If so, what are they for? Heated seat buttons?
From the pic you have in this forum, the console looks very nice in the EX..
