No start just clicking from the solenoid after changing the alternator
Ok so this morning i was heading to work, when i started my truck it started a little hard like the battery was a little low. Half way to work it died and the battery was dead. So a little later my dad took the alternator in to carquest and they said it was bad so He got a new one and threw it on for me. On my way home from work i jump started it and then came home and got my wife to go pick it up. When we got back there it was dead. So i jumped it again and then drove it home and let it run for about a half hour in the drive way. when i went out to shut it off i opened the door and it died. So i popped the hood and I noticed two wires coming from what i think is the voltage regulator that had rubbed on the battery tray and rubbed all the way thru. so i put those two wired back together but the solenoid now just buzzes, and it doesnt start. It was doing this buzzing also when i went back with my wife. Anyway If you can make sense of all that lol sorry its drawn out but thats what went down, so if anyone has any suggestions of what might be goin on or what i would change it would be greatly appreciated. Im thinkin ill change the solenoid and voltage regulator on thursday when im off again. Anyway thanks ahead of time for any ideas.

According to my electrical manual for this truck, the yellow wire from the voltage(alternator)regulator goes to the radio noise capacitor and to the gages. The orange wire next to the yellow wire at the regulator goes to the accy fuse on the fuse block. The orange wire next to the gr/r wire goes to the field terminal on the alternator.
