hey guys hope someone can help me. havent seen this yet.
i have a 95 f350 e40d auto powerstroke 274,000 miles
i removed the intake pipes to get to the fuel pump and lines
and saw oil in the rim of the turbo where the y pipe connects.
i drove the truck after replacing the fuel pump and had blue
smoke coming from exhaust for about 5 miles and then cleared up.
when i start the truck it runs smooth and no smoke. why the oil
in turbo. has anyone seen this before. i have no leaks of any kind.
It may depend on how much your motor is worn, mine has almost no smell and no oil drip at all, and I don't have mine run over the booster, just over and down. I never smell it in the cab, only when I get out after I get somewhere after a good haul.
Good point Darin. Wouldn't surprise me if mine was a bit worn out.
Also depends how often you clean out the CCV doghouse. I clean mine about every 10k with a can of brakleen. You'd be amazed how much crud gets clogged in there!
