Pertronix again..

Yet another Pertronix thread, I know. I put a Ignitor 1 in my 66, 352, this weekend. Easy install, but cylinders 2&3 are not firing. I tried setting the "airgap" a few times with no success. I put my old points back in and all is well. I actually did this a couple of times with the same results. I have a new Crane 30k coil if that matters. I left all the rest of the wiring alone. Any idea? Bad unit? Thanks!

I have used several Ignitor 1's without issue. Do they have a tech number? I don't know but possibly it has to do with the coil. Mine use stock coils. Just a guess. Maybe if the air gap is not correct the spark can jump causing a misfire.

I know this is too easy, but did you have the plug wires in the correct firing order?

uh no..

As I said, with points back in, everything is fine, including the spark plug wires. A better/newer than stock coil only helps. I adjusted the air gap using the plastic gauge many times to no avail. Yes, I've called the tech line, but they close too ealry for us west coast folks. I'm looking for input from someone who has had similiar issues and figured it out. Thanks.

Oops! I thought this was a distributor swap.
