Still trying to sort through the f3 wheel options, but did have a question aside from that issue. With the new door weatherstripping in place, i now cannot get the doors to close completely. They close to the first position, but will not close completely. Does anyone have experience with this? I am sure I read somewhere that this is a common problem with new weatherstripping, but do not remember what the solutions might be. Anyone with some helpful tips? Thanks.
If you cannot close the door fully, you'll have to adjust either the strike post out a. Littlte or the strike plate on the door in. thenleave the door shut a few days.

Typical problem...associated with all FoMoCo vehicles, because the only door weatherstrips available at the parts counter originally and now as repops...were not what was factory installed!
The factory installed w/strips were nearly flat, so closing the doors was never a problem. The Ford service part replacements and the repops are not flat, are much thicker/fatter than the originals.
At one time, the service parts door w/strips came with an instruction sheet on how to install them, similar to this:
After gluing the w/strip on, use masking tape to retain it in place, especially at corners. Close the door till it just touches the striker plate (it may be necessary to use tape to retain the door in this position).
Remove dome lamp bulb (if applicable). When the glue has dried, remove the masking tape.
So, I'm going to take a door that rattles without weather stripping and weather strip it to create a door that won't shut properly? But that gets better? Okay. Glad I read this first. My painter removed my strips and I'll have to reinstall. Glad I now know that so I don't try to blame him or the strip itself. Thanks for the info on the instructions.
