Possible, I always recommend a very heavy and hard pull after the recommended break in to help seat the rings.

Has anyone tried the TS Performance products??? They sound interesting

Diesel Performance Specialists

I told the dealer I would let him know today whether I will be buying the 2010 King Ranch. I LOVE the truck, but the lack of mileage is very concerning. I have decided that the 2011 is out of the picture right now. If I don't go with this 2010 I will keep my Duramax

I recommend that you stay FAR AWAY from this kind of tuner. This looks to be the type that adjusts what the PCM sees to fool it into providing more fuel than the engine would otherwise see. This can be very hazardous to your engine and your wallet in the event of catastrophic failure.

If you want to tune, do it right. Spartan seems to be the best one out there right now, and their tunes have a great history of not causing problems when used with common sense.

If it were me I wouldn't tune it at all though. You can buy a LOT of fuel for the $15,000 you'll spend on a replacement engine should you have a catastrophic failure with a tuner.

If you can't afford the fuel without the tuner, you probably can't afford a catastrophic failure. As much as I like Fords and dislike GM, I really think you're best off with your current truck.

I too would be concerned with that tuner. No one is using it that I know of. I run the banks 6-gun, but when towing I am very careful

17...with the off road tires. I suppose with a stock front bumper and some less agressive thread maybe I could get 18 to 18.5 but that would only be my estimate.

I have 3.73 gears.

Keep in mind that not all trucks run the same. I happen to have one of those that is exceptional...knock on wood. I don't have any problems out of mine, never have since new.

But I run mine hard and tow heavy.

Almost zero city driving

You will not get great fuel mileage out of a stock 6.4 PERIOD. However, you will have one awesome riding, hauling, working and towing machine.
My 2010 with 3.55 rear end averages about 16 to 17 empty and that is while being LIGHT on the pedal.

If I can get 17 in that truck I would be very happy. Some of the numbers I have heard are much lower than that. I am taking the truck on an extended test drive tomorrow and hopefully it all works out

well..........................I bought the KR today. I was in a hurry so I will be going back on Saturday to pick it up. I took it on a 45 minute test drive this morning and it really is an amazing truck. Hopefully I did not make a mistake???? Now I need to start doing some research on helping the MPG's. The dash was showing a combined 18.4mpg on my trip today, which would make me very happy. The first 20 miles was at 72-74mph (4-lane) and the last 30 miles was at 62-64mph (2-lane). My Chevy's mpg is very accurate when comparing the dash to hand calculated numbers, but it does not sound like the Ford is??? Looking forward to getting the new truck!!! Thanks for all of your help

I would suspect around 17 as the actual # which is respectable for 8,000 lbs.

A friend owns a 2008 F250 and he told me that not using the cruise control really seems to help his mileage. I will post some pics when i pick it up. Thanks again for the input!
