Strange start up

Hey all Happy Easter first off. Well i have noticed a differance in sound when starting my truck. Im curious as to if it could be the fuel pump starting to fail maby idk.

So I parked the truck fri after noon and all was well. Went out today "sunday" bout 12pm bout 85 to 90 degrees out. Cycled ignition on wait to start light went off and fired it up. Instead of going rurrr rurrrr rurrrrr rurrrrr rurrrrrrooommmm...... it sounded like a bad lope or a bogg. Kinda like Chugga Chugga sound. I know my sound effects dont help too much hahaha. So i drove 30 mi all was good. I shut the truck down and fired it back up after 5hrs it was still warm and it did the same thing.

On the way home it could have been my mind playing tricks on me but it dident seem too smooth douring acceleration or shifting into O/D. At one point going up a hill it shifted into O/D and it seemed to bogg out after the shift a bit. Like i said could just be my mind playing tricks on me.

I dont have a fuel pressure gauge, Engine oil should be good changed 2k mi ago and have no leaks anywhere. CCV is venting well, My Edge Evoiution has a built in code reader and i have no codes. I will try and record it in the morning if it dose it and post it.

I guess im just curious if anyone has encounterd this or has any suggestions on what would cause it to do this......
Thanks FTE

It looked to be in the norm... I always look at all the gauges prior to starting. Batt voltage looked to be in the correct spot between 12 and 14

just to be safe i would check them on the bat with a good meter. how much fuel is in the tank if it less than 1/4 there could be air in the fuel and that will make it run different.

okay so I started the truck this morning and drove out the driveway real slow about 20 miles per hour and a truck was pulseating real bad. Bout half throttle it kept sounding like it would bogg out. I would accell harder and it would smooth out. still no codes

When was the oil changed last? Time to buzz test your injectors.

I had the same problem in my 2002 7.3... turned out to be the IPR.
It didn't throw any codes either, I swapped in a friends IPR and it ran smooth again.
