So my budget is pretty limited, but my truck does have 251000 miles on her, and I know there is no need to replace the injectors unless than go bad, but I would like a little more performance. What if i was to buy some injector nozzles and rebuild mine or do I have to buy already set up injectors. I am a little confused on all of this.
Thanks
I think one of our sponsors here Jim at Rosewood Diesel used to sell the kits but since stopped selling them for some reasons but you could shoot him a E-Mail or something to find out. From what I read here, unless you really know what your doing and can flow test the injectors it would be in your best interest to buy them already done. Here's a link http://www.rosewooddieselshop.com/
I agree with Mike. Send yours to Jim at Rosewood and save yourself some grief. However, if you are in a super pinch and had to rebuild yourself...then replacing the nozzles is a very wise choice. Even so, you won't be able to flow test them or check to see if they hold high side oil so you will only be doing 1/4 to 1/2 the job at best. 1/4 job is the nozzles, the other 1/4 is checking the armature gaps. It's possible you could find a machine shop in your area who can mill one thousandth of an inch but even then you'll still have no way to pressure or flow text.
Jim can do it all for a reasonable price and you should be happy when you get them back. My engine really took well to rebuilt injectors and new nozzles. When my wife's truck hits 200k, I'm yanking the injectors and sending them to Rosewood to have them rebuilt even if they seem fine.
I have a buddy here in town who rebuilds and builds pull tractors and has a injection pump and injectors rebuild room. I can get him to test them for me. If I was to get just nozzles what size do I look for?

chances are your friend's setup wont work to test our injectors unless he is running a HEUI set up in his tractor
I'll recommend Full Force injectors (Ryan Casserly).
First, I'd make sure you need injectors, then I'd consider single shots, stage 1's are a nice improvement. But you'll need custom tuning, which if you went with just custom tunes now over your Edge, I think you'll be happy, for a little while. Single shots will give you a nice improvement in power with good tunes, use less oil and be a little easy on fuel.
Awesome, I believe his is compatible he put a mix of duramax and stroker injectors in his 7.3 with a custom installed duramax turbo. It runs awesome. But anyways, I have a PS Performance chip so later when I do some upgrades I can get some custom tunes.
Thanks guys
