Collapsed Upper Hose

When I opened the hood this morn I saw that the upper radiator hose was collapsed. Coolant never got hot (195) and is at the proper level on the dagas bottle. When I opened the degas cap it went back to normal. Is this normal. I will try to post a pic.

I have noticed on some of my older vehicles 250000mi that the hoses get soft and collapse when the vehicle has a cold soak overnight. When the system cools down everything shrinks back down and this is what I think causes the collapsed hose.this is wear it[ gives out] its wornout hoses. But on a good note you have a good coolant system that will hold pressure both expandind and contracting just my .02

Did your oil cooler pop in the past??and you didnt change the hoses after

Blade the oil cooler did not pop, its the original. But I did do the Blue Sping update in wich I had to smash that hose down to get it out of the way and in doing that I think I messed it up. No leaks. Thanks for your response. Happy Easer Everyone !

If you think you may have damaged it internally I would replace it before it lets you down some place that you don't want to be.

I would replace the degas bottle cap. It is supposed to let air in as the system cools, but yours didn't, and now you have a vacuum on the system.

New Cap

Bpounds Thanks, I replaced it a year ago with a new one. I think when I was installing the blue spring I messed with the internal integrity of the hose, Thanks everyone.

Good plan. If there is any question about the hose, best to replace it. If it still collapses, then you know what to check next.
