"Big Three" Wiring Mod?
Hi all,
I just took delivery of my '02 X last night and noticed the headlights randomly dimming while driving. I can trigger the dimming by toggling the windows up or down. The truck has recent batteries, but I think the above is a signal that the alt is weak.
I did some forum searching and found a post about a higher output replacement alternator, which I'm happy to do, but the same post mentions something about a "big three" wiring upgrade, I think to three ground wires.
Can someone explain this "big three" mod to me, or direct me to a how to post?
Thanks,
Chris

Did this with my stereo upgrade with 4. You will prob want to use 2 or 0 gauge wire at welding shop or stereo place. I found the stereo stuff a little more but more pliable and easier to work with.
Just add to the wiring already there and were you make body, chassis attachments you will want to sand to bare metal and then primer after.
1)Ground from battery to body, 2)fused from alt power to battery, 3)alt ground to body, 4)under passenger side front body to chassis ground
I have pictures in my gallery if you want, and can also utube for video.
