So, I'm really tired of this cat that keeps camping out on my porch so i borrow a live trap from my dad.
This morning i hear something rattling around out there so i look outside (cant see the trap from the door) and the cat i'm trying to trap is sitting on the steps...........ok....probably just got the wrong cat......
Here's what i found....
Wife wont let me kill it so she's gonna let it out...
Yep, I have caught several coons at my place this winter. They like chickens......The toughest thing I had to manage was a skunk. I eased a small tarp over the trap. Then took the trap to my pond. I dunked him. Opened the trap under water and kinda swung him out. He came up several feet away and swam off. Sometimes they will spray without much coaxing.
If you really want to p!$$ off a racoon trap and kill one of it's babies in front of it.
know that just wrong dodge/cummins how would u feal if some broke in to ur house. killed one of ur kids in front of u. yea chris i side with ur wife on this one just take it to a park and let it go do to other as u would like them to do to u

I'd feel nothing but the recoil.
Humanely, I killed the mom and other baby by using another baby for bait.
Luckily for me racoons don't really have the ability to exact revenge like I do.
I take no pleasure in killing anything. After some thinking heres what i have. I do it when i have to with sick and dangerous animals or ones that are destroying property. It's a fact of life and sometimes has to be done for food and such also. Sometimes things have to be done. If the coon were a danger I'd do what needs to be done. But i can see his wifes point, he ain't hurting anything h probably was just bouncing around the neigborhood. My opinion is let him go and trap the cat.

I see your point of view and it is reasoned and civilized but I'd kill it. There are plenty of racoons and it'll just cause someone else problems and they'll end up killing it anyway.
