Anyone have this experience ?? On my 94 F-150 5.0 5sp, Will not start It cranks fine has spark the fuel pump turns on and I changed the fuel filter, Still no go. I had It towed the guy at the shop said it started but he would let it sit overnite. Last I heard it would not start after sitting ?? My thought is the fuel pressure regulator is either bad or something along those lines. Any feed back would be appreciated!
If it's NOT a MAF engine, you can pull the codes yourself at home and see what the computer says. It sounds to me more like an ignition problem that fuel.
It's got spark. It wants to start. About a week ago it kinda did the same thing It started and chugged. I shut it off restarted and it was fine. The spark issue could be if I didn't have enough voltage ?? It's still at the shop so I can't pull the codes.... but after the first bad starting experience there was no check engine lite type occurences ?? Very aggravating !!!!!!
Check the very large wire connection on the inside of the drivers side fender. I have an 88 F 150 4x4 5.8 mine wuold not start either so me and my father in law soent 1 day just trying to figure it we checked the wiring found some corroded wires fixed them truck would turn over but did'nt run checked the wires again and got it started come to find out I lost fuel pressure It's been running fine for two years So you might try that first.
Try squirting some ether into the intake and try to start it. If it starts, then your problem is fuel related. If it's fuel related you might want to check/replace the fuel pump relay before putting out big bucks for a pump or regulator.
Got it back today they said it started everytime. As i stated earlier the fuel pump worked changed the filter, it had spark when it wouldn't start. Maybe the tow scared it. This truck has run flawless with exception of the slave cyliner and an egr valve from new. I will see if there are any codes stored. Thanks everyone for your input.
Mine starts fine at the garage after it's towed .... I checked today they r gonna keep it for another day. Hmmm.. sporadic inertia switch ???? I give up
Think I am on to something found a tsb.
