I personally wouldn't worry about it, these old F250's will carry more than they were ever rated for, and I can't believe that a slide in would weigh enough to bother it. I've seen campers that big on F150's. Again, this is just my personal opinion, nothing I've researched. I do know my 76 has hauled a 450 gallon h2o tank (that's 3600 lbs), and it still sat up in the back a little bit, not saggy in the butt. I'd say go for it, just keep the old tires in mind, check them over for dry rot cracks before any heavy loads.

I went ahead and purchased the camper, got it for $450 delivered !!!
he even threw in the dishes, an electric heater, a brand new (never used) SEARS port-a-potty, and the front (bed mount) tie downs.
with those overload springs, I'm not too worried, the springs should be stronger than his 1995 F350 factory springs.
tires on the other hand
this truck has 20 year old 9.75x16.5 tires all the way around, with light sidewall dry rot.
I'm very apprehensive to put the camper in the back before I get new tires on her.
(I've already picked up some 16x8 wheels) just waiting on some money to pick up some "E" rated tires. (currently looking for used, in good shape)
