They get their carpet from ACC which supplies their carpet to many places. This is one of those "things" that gets brought up pretty frequently. Since they supply to many companies, chances are most places you order from will supply ACC carpet. It's going to be one of those things that is a hit or miss. I've heard/seen many who are very pleased and also heard/seen some that seemed to not fit properly. Mine doesn't fit properly up by the kickpanels. It seems like it was not wide enough, but fit well in the rest of the truck. I guess I wouldn't hesitate too much because the chances are you'll probably be happy with it, but just wanted to let you know that there are some that seemed to be off. I've heard some good things from SMS fabrics http://www.smsautofabrics.com/
If you don't mind having a mat in your truck, I'd actually think about having the floor rhinolined to act as your mat and you would be able to wash the floor out.

Hmm, not a bad idea. Would Rust-Oleum truck bed lining be any good? And would that make it much louder than it is now?
I bit the bullet on the ACC carpet not long ago despite warnings on this forum and elsewhere. Since they claimed it is not cut until ordered - I added a request that the sides have an extra couple inches added. Whether they actually listened or if they have just changed their ways, I had an extra 2" on either side. No matter what - there is a need to specify tall hump or low hump transmission tunnels, if the place you are ordering from does not have that option, chances are they do not know enough to properly order the carpet for you.
I did drive the truck for a while with only rustoleum bed liner on the underside of the floors - it was much louder. More road and engine noise got through. Just depends on how picky you are with that. I now have bed liner under the floor on the outside, a super sticky sound mat covering the floor inside, and the factory style sound deadening material attached to my new carpet. No complaints.

I may go ahead and do the bed liner, and then get carpet later. Right now theres a $300 list of things I want to do. The truck will be my daily driver; using it for around town & to get to school, so I dont think road noise will be that much of a nuisance. How many quarts of bed liner did it take?

I used the amount recommended for a mini-truck bed, I do not recall how much that was, but I still had some left over.
I installed the pre-molded, full cab vinyl mat from JBG in my 77, love it. It had to be trimmed to fit but the quality and molding was great. And its a full mat, not a half mat like factory.
Finally got around to ripping out the old carpet. There was some rust on the edges of both the DS and PS floorboards. The PS had rusted through and crudely relaired by one of the POs. I has some sheet laying around that I welded in until I can get some good metal to correctly repair it. One quart of liner was plenty for two coats.
