Ford Unibodies
Hi guys, 
I need to know about the Ford unibody trucks and where can I find the information to decode a VIN number on a 63 Ford F100. I'm being told that the bed on this truck that I'm looking at to buy is called a "Wrong bed" because Ford discontinued the unibody in Mid 63. Will post pics later today or tomrrow. Thanks guys.

Ford built Non Unibodies, even in 61 and 62, and they all got the wrong bed look. Mid 63 they discontinued all Unibodies. At that time all trucks got the wrong bed. 4x4 trucks continued the wrong bed look for a few years. I think perhaps up to 66.
As for your VIN post it here and there are quite a few people who have access to the decoder. You may want to post all the info on the warranty plate from the drivers door for a complete picture of your truck as it came from the factory. Keep in mind if someone changed the drivers door then all bets are off and we know almost nothing

In your first paragraph you say Ford built non unibodies and then you stated that Ford discontinued all unibodies in mid 63. I'm a little confused. No trucks but cars were unibodies? Please clairify. As soon as I can get the VIN number I will post it on this site. So my truck is not a hybird. It's just a 63 F100 SWD wrong bed Truck. Thanks again for your help.
