...Cat brand retaining compound is some serious stuff...! It sets up very quickly and once set, very hard/impossible to remove...especially if ya gob it on like Locktite....

...Yep...in theory...
Tried a judicious application of Mapp gas then I got paranoid...
The piece is chrome plated, with a 1/2x20 1.5 inch recessed allen bolt and only .5 inch of bolt sticking out...
Was afraid I'd discolor the chrome and/or strip the allen...so I did some figuring, 1/2 dia with 1/2 remaining should be enough to hold everything together...after all It's just going to hold the riser to the frontend...(I hope...)
