Startuing Issues: No Cranking

Hello All, new guy here. Searched this forum and found some great info but cannot find the fix to my current issue.

I replaced both batteries in my 2007 F250 6.0L Diesel and now my truck will not even crank.

Batteries are good as I checked them in my wife's car and they both work.

Looked at all fuses that I thought could be suspect but thinking I need to do this again. Maybe I missed one?

When I open the door the lights blink and the horn relay is rapidly switching off and on (I pulled the fuse as the horm will not stop honking).

I turned the key into the on position and arched the started and the truck started and ran around the block with no issues. Turned it off and same thing. No crank. SO I know the truck runs and batteries are good.

When I turn the key to start lights/radio etc goes dark (as it should)so I do not think it is the ignition switch

Everything I have read is about cranking but not starting. I am not even cranking.

Did I miss a fuse? Is there something else to check? Some electrical switch or something I blew when replacing the batteries (I did not replace in the sequence found in the FAQ's after the fact).

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance
E

Sounds like you'd better review the wiring that hooks up the battery/starter. Look at the passenger side battery and connections. Get a voltmeter or trouble light and start checking/probing for 12 v. MAYBE you blew an inline fuse in wiring.

there is a wire that comes off the drivers side battery that goes to the fuse block. its held on by the cable end by a 10mm nut. is that on there?

He only has one (1) post. Bet he found his error and never came back to clear the post!

I did indeed come back and wanted to share the result. It has been driving me crazy for a few days why I could not figure it out.

It hit me this afternoon that it must be some type of factory or aftermarket alarm issue (that I did not know the truck had). Was the only thing I could figure that resulted in horn, lights and no crack what so ever.

Little more search on the FTE forum and found others with the exact same issue. From there found the reset button under the dash near the fuse box and just like that it was fixed. Truck runs great again.

While I only have one post on this forum (now 2) I am an active on-line user of other forums for other cars/hobbies (such as racing) and realize how valuable they can be.

Appreciate the assistance and all the contributors to this forumn.
