Hey guys. New little hiccup here. In the mornings when it's cold here around 30-40 my truck doesn't crank right up like normal. It kinda rumbles and acts like it's gonna try for about 15 seconds then it cranks up belches out white smoke for a few seconds and runs smooth. I've also noticed that when it's first started up until it reaches 150-190 degrees it makes a high pitch squealing noise under acceleration. It sounds a lot like the regular injector noise other than the high pitch. When it reaches operating temp the noise goes away. I might be due for some injectors. The old gal is up to 260,000 miles and I've only replaced 2 so far. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this. The cold start issues are in line with injector stiction but the weird noise isn't something I've heard of before. Anyways thanks in advance for any input.

Just some things I have found that can cause squeals. Belts and small crack/slit in the CAC boots. Also ran across a belt tensioner that was making noises on and off. Sometimes just heating up the engine changes the noises and makes them disappear. Does the squeal change tone if you have the AC on or off, maybe the belt then.

A little update. I hooked it up to my buddy's AE and there were codes for 4 of the glow plugs. I guess I'll get those replaced along with the harnesses and valve cover gaskets. I still can't peg the squeal noise it doesn't sound anything like belts/pulleys. I dunno I think I'll just run it till something breaks then I'll know.
