Morning everyone…hoping someone can give me some ideas on this problem. I have a 2000 Expedition, EB Edition with the 5.4 in it. I have replaced all plugs and the cops. The problem is that when the truck is cold it runs like a champ, getting about 16mpg on the highway. But when it gets nice and warm, and you give it gas, it sounds “loud” kinda like an exhaust leak, and even like a slapping sound in the front driver side.
The other part to this is that when the truck is in park or neutral and is the gas pedal is pushed it sound beautiful, but when its in gear and you give it gas it sounds terrible. The engine isn’t on and I haven’t seen it come on, so I don’t know where to begin.
looks intact all the way thru. Now it sounds like there's an exhaust leak on the drivers side, up around the front door area. Almost sounds like a slapping sound from the the front end. and the darn thing still hasn't thrown any codes.
