Someone i know just had the samething done under warranty and the only flush he got was when they drain the coolant to the system to change the coolers if you call that a flush then they flushed it and the difference in water with minerals and distilled is just that it has minerals in it one of the big one is Iron the stuff that turns your clothes yellow along with a lot of other things depending on where you live and distilled water is mineral FREE pure water, tap water and antifreeze may mess up a cooling system it may turn the system red like rust on iron.

Last thing I read was 215 ECT. That's not severe.

Your temps look great for the conditions.

I've seen 232* ECT while pulling into a headwind, during the summer.

Here are the temps on a stock t/stat
89*c and 104*c this comes out to
89*c=192.2*F starts to open 104*c=219.2*F fully open
so most of the time the t/statis not fully opened
These numbers are right off the stock t/stat

Well got my coolant filter on tonight looks great and only took about 20 min. Oh and the black stuff floating in my coolant is tiny specs of rust and metal is what it looks and feels like.

Which one did you get? Let us know how fast it clears your coolant. I ordered a Sinister last night and a tstat, I'm getting closer to flush day.

So, I am pretty much with everyone else. Temp spread is such that flush is in order and new t-stat with elc. In reading about Restore it states to "back-flush" the system which, I would think, might help the oil cooler if not completely blocked? How does one back-flush this cooling system? thx, gm.
