Horns

My project truck came to me w/o horns. Can any of you give me a down and dirty solution? Can I use any horns? do I need some kind of relay, perhaps? will they easily wire to a boneyard tilt column? I really don't need or want anything fancy, just something to make noise when needed. Thanks, Jim

Horns

Use a horn relay because the slip ring in your steering wheel and the wiring probably won't handle the amperage that the horns draw. Most have two horns, a high and low pitch. Any 12 volt horns should work okay.

If you really want to get down and dirty, go to the parts store and get a universal horn button. Bolt it somewhere near the column on the bottom side of the dash. Hook at hot wire to one side, and then run another wire out to the horn under the hood. It's not pretty, but it passes inspections with flying colors.

I got a set of horns off a 70's Cadillac.

You don't want to be in front of my truck when I blast them.

They have the best horns those old 70's large cars.
