Build Ideas

I'm supposed too be getting a good job this summer (graduating HS) and I'm thinking of things I need/want to to do my truck.

Need:
- Rebuild/new engine
- I hate the 302. I want to rebuild a 351w and put in its place. I'm also
considering a 300I6 though.

- Rebuild Front-end.
- My front-end's shot (all bushings, ball-joints, ect.)
- I plan on a lift later (hopefully by end of summer) so should I wait and
do that then?

Want:
- Lift
- F-250 leaf springs in the back and F-250 coils with 2in spacers in front
to level.
- 33x12.50r15 Courser CT's

- Paint & Accessories
- Burnt orange main color. More of a burnt orange with slightly more
copper tone to it. Maybe a black rocker panel strip.
- Black powder-coated custom bumpers, front with brushguard
- Black diamond-plate toolbox.
- Black lightbar with rectangular KC offroad lights.

That's all the major ideas I have. Anyone have any suggestions or advice? Any criticism is accepted too.

well if you want raw pulling power and good fuel milage go with the 300-6. if you want speed and top end power go with the v8. all the mod sound awsome. good luck on the project.

The 300 will have less power and hardly, if any, better gas mileage. Just FYI.

The 300 does run for a long time, but it's not the end all like a lot of guys here think.

I want pulling power and top-end. I know the 351w has enough of both. I'll be going to college 2hrs away in a couple years and want top-end on the parkway.

Are you talking mods for higher speed? If so, what are they?

I plan on building my front bumper with built-in brushguard. I don't think the 1/2ton springs will last long in the front with a 300-500lb bumper up there. I may go new 1/2ton rear springs with blocks in the back.

what you could do is just replace the front springs with the springs from an f250-f350 because with the heavy bumperguard itd be a half mild ride.
