You mentioned this potential problem in your list of original concerns. I suspect you will need to take your truck to a Ford garage and ask them to use their engine analyzer to see if it can figure out how to solve these issues. If you are then able to do it yourself, take it home and fix it. The PCM may be the problem. It runs fuel, spark, and air. Is the PCM a seperate unit from the primary computer? I don't know.
You are experiencing a problem, not a defeat. Perhaps someone on the forum will be able to offer a better suggestion. I'll pray that you will find a way to solve these problems. Let me know how you managed to fixed them. J.S.
I got it to run really good now, no miss. I changed the plugs and found some COP's that were good.
The shifting has gotten better.... not fixed but better. I changed the filter and fluid..put in some lucas..even tho it looked brand new.
I am getting a code for vehicle speed sensor. I will post the results when I change it.
Still using the 98 ecu. A friend of mine used to work as a mechanic at a ford dealership... he thinks a new security key to match the original ecu would do it.
