I have a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT with wear on the driver side bucket. Wanted to know if the buckets are interchangeable with passenger side? Just move controls to other side or can't be done? THANKS!
Had Dealer order new cushion for my 08....110k on it...New cushion was waaaay softer than the old one with lots of butt time. Feels way different than passenger side which has no butt time.. Dealer even reordered cushion, same thing...now I feel like I am riding in a low rider.... should of kept orig
Thanks... mine has some wear on the "roping or cord" on the outer edge. Previous owner was short and evidently didn't use running board to stand on to get out of truck.
Upholster wants $185 to repair. Thought of just switching the seat bases between the passenger and driver. Passenger basically never been sat on.
FWIW, $185 isn't too bad. I had a seat bottom of an older Explorer rebuilt (new padding and a hole patched) about 10 years ago and that repair ran me just under $100. Does your Mark LT have the two tone accents? Roping is another color opposite of the seat leather?
Gotcha. Farily labor intensive job since they would basically have to unstich the entire seat bottom and replace the roping.
I love the two tone Mark LT interiors, but I can see how this would be an eye sore.
The bottoms are not interchangeable. They are different on the outside than the inside substantially, and if you moved the passenger to the driver side the outside would then be the inside and would not work out. Just reupholser or order new from the dealer. It is rather expensive but if its done right and lasts another 100k its worth the money. I would order the seat bottom bucket frame with spring pad and foam cushion as well.
Thanks! I thought the seats may be interchangeable and the electronics were added to the sides. Now, I understand there not. I'll just have the upholster repair. Said he could make it look like new.
