Pulled codes awhile ago...got a 96. Says "Fuel Pump Circuit Open"-Battery to ECA (1988 On). What is an ECA maybe the Pump Relay? And does this thing have a fuse for the fuel pump in the panel and if so does anybody know which one it is? I' stumped. Fuel Pumps not getting any juice. Anybody got any ideas? HELP!!!
96 is most of the time a bad fuel pump relay (or the wiring under the relay).
No fuse in the panel but does have a fuse link coming off the starter solenoid battery side that can can cause this also.
ECA = Electronic Control Assembly
ECM = Electronic Control Module
EEC = Electronic Engine Control module
PCM = Powertrain Control Module.
All the same thing, different names.

And by the book:
Service Code 96 indicates a fuel pump secondary circuit failure between the BATT(+) supply and the FPM connection to the Power-To-Pump circuit.
Possible causes:
No Start:
-- Open circuit between the BATT(+) supply and the FPM connection to the Power-to-Pump circuit.
-- Fuel pump relay contacts always open.
Engine Starts:
-- HEGO short to power (dual HEGO applications).
-- Damaged processor.
