Bad Fuel Pump?
Hi All-
It's happened a few times now where I start the truck and it sounds funny - real quiet and a puff of black smoke. The first time it happened I took off and it seemed OK for about a block then lost all power. I looked down at the fuel pressure gauge and it read 0 psi. Just then it jumped to 50 psi, regained power and all was well. No problems after that.
A few weeks later I noticed the real quiet start again. I stayed idling and just watched the fuel pressure gauge at 0 psi. After a little bit it jumped to 50 psi and stayed.
I'm assuming fuel pump, but is there anything else I should look at first?

If you have a Ford ESP, it can be, depending on which one you purchased. A Premium Care covers just about everything.
Whether it's covered or not, this is something you should get taken care of ASAP.
