UVCH PLUG WIRES

UVCH PLUG WIRES
Hey guys, noticed something while finishing up flushing my power steering pump today.
The passenger side UVCH connector has some wires with the insulation breaking off where they attach to the plug on the valve cover.
So far I am not having any issues, but I can see where this may present some irritating problems sometime down the road.
This is showing up with 397k miles and it is right there where it is exposed to some good heat.
Has anyone noticed this and if so what sort of fix did you end up with?
I am thinking along the lines of applying some sort of epoxy around the entire set of wires as they go into the plug. I'm gonna check with our electrical gurus at work and see what they use to insulate wiring like this.
I do not think the wiring harness has enough slack to rewire the plug and I sure do not like the idea of replacing that section of harness - it probably comes as a set with other legs attached to the unit.
I may take a pic tomorrow and see if I can download it on the thread.

I bought a replacement connector off of eBay for something like $15. It comes with about 8" of wire. I am using mine as a test tool, but it is a replacement for that situation. I also know Strictly Diesel has them on their website. They are more money, but they claim they are high quality.
The one I picked up was from a diesel shop out of Millington, TN.

Following several conversations with fellow workers, especially in the electrical dept., the consensus is to remove the individual electrical wires from the plastic plug, then apply a couple of layers of shrink tubing and reinstall. They say each layer of shrink tubing is good insulation against 300v.
I may order me a pig tail for the "just in case" scenario.
I also learned that there exists what they call "liquid tape" - it is in a small bottle and you just brush it on like finger nail polish and it hardens to form a layer of insulation. This is something to bail you out if caught on the road with this problem.
Thanks,
