Today I did the FRX and HPX and 50 cent mod on driver side .I did not have time to do the other side. Here is the problem. The truck is running extremely rough and even stalls. I had to be towed home, luckily I was only a couple of miles away. What could it Be??? Thanks Ron
It runs very rough almost like a gas engine missing on a couple of cylinders. This is my daily driver and I need it tomorrow. I checked the spring again i used the gold one and it is still running bad. Thanks for your reply
No I do not know how to do that . I was thinking electrical as well.Maybe that big wiring harness that goes across the valve cover with a bolt in the middle. I disconnected that. I also played with the uvch connector the quarter slid in loose. The uvch looked good compare to the pictures I have seen here.
I would definatley ohm check the wiring harness. I sounds like you have injectors not firing correctly. If you search the forum for the specs, I bet you will find your problem.
I took the valve cover back off. I do not visually see anything wrong with the uvch. Could it be that big wiring harness that goes across the valve cover with the bolt in it? I really could use some advice.
Here's a link to a thread Chris helped a guy with ohming the injector wiring. Truck was running fine before the three mods? Look over the wire harness across the valve cover, but I think you would be getting a CEL. Bump
if all you did was mess with the UVCH (the big wire harness that goes under the valcover) and did the Hpx and Frx then thats where i would look.
You either...
Dont have the harness connected all the way
Chaffed one of the wires or meesed up the connection somehow
You still have air in your fuel system
You still have air in your oil system
You still have air in fuel and oil systems
My guess would be either option 1 or 5. or maybe both.
Recheck the harness connection crank er back up and let er run to get the air out of the system....it may take a while.
somehow I am not getting power to the fuel pump. It was running rough and would not start because it ran out of fuel. I have checked all the fuses and the one in the floorboard. How does this coincide with the frx and hpx is beyond me ! Where do i go from here?
How did you determine you're not getting power to the fuel pump? No CEL means it's likely not UVCH or the square box with a bolt in the middle of it related.
Typically no power to the fuel pump means the truck won't even try to start. Yours is starting for a bit. Is there a chance you didn't get the spring installed in the FPR? Is there a chance that some other piece fell out of the fuel bowl or FPR before you put the spring in there? Is there a chance you somehow got the HPX and FRX mixed up as to which one plugs into which hole?
If you turn the key on with the truck off, can you hear the fuel pump come on for about 20 seconds? If it does, crack open the drain valve on the fuel bowl and see if you've got a pressurized stream of fuel coming out. Maybe pull the fuel filter out of the bowl and make sure the spring or bushing in the FPR isn't sticking into the fuel bowl. Any way to get an actual pressure gauge hooked up to the bowl so you can see what you have?
