Ok, firstly. Yes I can read, yes I do know that these are not street legal. What I'm wondering is, has anyone here ever tried these types of bulbs?
Do they draw to much current and blow fuses or burn up wiring? Or, do they produce to much heat and damage the housing or other parts of the headlight setup?
HD headlight harness? What is this harness you speak of??
I'd definitely want to go to a relay setup if I tried these bulbs. Actually, I'd like to install a relay either way. The only bulbs that are 80/100 that cost more than these are all "xenon" and they are blue. I don't want blue lights.
I wouldn't use them if I were you. I tried a set of the 80/100w lights in my wifes old car and they were bright but they melted the harness and inside of headlight housing. Not worth it in my opinion.

By "HD harness" I mean the Heavy duty relay harness. Got mine on ebay for the cheapz.
But yea id pass on those bulbs.
Alot of people talk bad about HIDs and how they blind people but anyone is more than welcome to come check mine out. Ive never been flashed in the 2 years of having them, no cop issues, they have a pretty good cutoff and don't scatter. Yes projector headlights would make them even better but I have to either wait for some $$$ before I can have some built or wait for some to be made that arnt hideous.
I've ran them 80/100 bulbs before with my relay/hd harness I made. They worked great for the two weeks they lived. One low burnt out and a couple days later a high burnt out.
Make/buy a separate harness that hooks to the battery, two relays, a good ground, the headlight bulbs(with higher watt rated plugs than stock) , and to one factory headlight plug, the factory plug will "turn on" the relays, and the relays and added wiring will carry all the load.
Now, by relays, I am assuming the same type found in the fuse box underhood, similar to a horn relay? And so, by looping them together, and connecting them to one of the headlight plugs, it will relieve power strains, therefore making said headlights brighter?
Btw, I am running Sylvania Superstars...The $45 ones...lol
Yes, and the new harness will take all the power load for the headlights, and a slightly brighter light is possible.. also less likely to burn out the headlight switch..
I don't suggest using high wattage bulbs even with relays, since they could get too hot for the headlight housing.
Also, stay away from any color coating on the bulb. All super white, hyper white etc all all blue bulb junk. That is just whiter light and provides less usable light. Clear bulbs only. These are good ones, GE Nighthawk (not sport), Sylvania Xtravision, Phillips Vision Plus, and other bulbs like that that are +30 or 50 bulbs. They are brighter by using a mixture of Xenon and Halogen gas and a different filiment.
Something else that would give you brighter lights would be a 130 or so amp alternator upgrade. That would make all the lights brighter, especially when the AC and wipers etc are on.
I would use a head light relay setup even with stock bulbs. They are available from LMC and sometimes on Ebay.
I also do not recommend HID retrofit kits. They are illegal for a reason. The optics of the headlight are incorrect and it causes excessive glare to oncomming drivers. While it does provide a nice night time view from inside the vehicle, other people may not like you very much.
Sorry wont work. I have HIDs and I also have an HID relay harness.
This harness plugs into the HID ballast.
Welcome to FTE though
I don't know what the outside link policy here is since I'm new, but this is the harness I bought from eBay. I know it says it's for HIDs but it is my (un)professional opinion that it'll work.
