Hey fellas just wanted to say so long. I cant afford the diesel prices anymore so I'm trading my truck to a friend for 2300 bucks and a mint Ford Probe GT V6. Probably gonna make myself a little race car. But 28 mpg round town vs. 16 to 17 sounds better to me. I didnt want to do it but I cant even afford to go to college anymore. Still gonna drop in to say hi once in a while though.
Anyone want me to post updates of my new car?
yea im gonna miss her but who knows my friend is makin it a service truck so i know it will be takin care of and he will probe let me drive it when its finished
Its understandable.... Diesel is 4.15-4.25 a gallon here in WV. I'm barely scraping by driving it down here in college. I bought a jetta but its already giving me problems... But my old stroker at 280k is still as faithful as ever.
I still driving the diesel everyday, I just squizing buy with fuel price now at 3.95 a gallon with work and school. I pit 104.00 in her last night but got close to 16mpgs.
I'm kinda in the same boat...I had the cash for a 6637,gauges, downpipe and a chip. But my PSD mods have turned into a '92 Civic that needs some body work. I'll be putting STA-BIL in the fuel and letting the truck get some serious rest. Dang the timing...just got the clatterbeast in November.
Id look for a real cheap used car and keep the truck. I bought a 99 sunfire for $200 with 203k n I've put over 25k on it now and its saved me tons of fuel. Its nice having two vehicles

What's the Jetta doing to you? I still have a 81 that gets 40 mpg.

Went to come back to school from home stopped to get gas... The ignition switch locked up and wouldn't turn to start it. had to fiddle with it for half hour to finally get it to break free. I mean it runs good and I get 35 highway 30 city with it. But it never fails... I buy a vehicle to save gas and it strands me somehow within 2 weeks... always have to bring old faithful back down. Shows the reliability and durability of these trucks. haha
DOn't sell the truck. Just get a rice burner beater for cheap. Preferably one small enough to load in the bed of the truck when it breaks. I had an old 3 wheel honda car a LONG time ago that would fit and it got 75 mpg. my MGB would have probably fit too. maybe. Save the truck though. We're still only paying 3 bucks per gallon for some really great biodiesel and driving two diesel trucks daily with every weekend trips to our "happy shack" that are almost 600 miles round trip. I'm not rich by any means but I'm not giving up our trucks.
truck is gona guys. with work right now and health problems i just have to many bills to even begin to try and save money for a car. checks come in one hand and go out the other. but the car is gonna need a clutch and pressure plate. had to flat shift it for 70 miles last night when the clutch wouldnt disengage. however at 32 mpg im not complaining. the car is worth 3500 and today he gave me a 2300 dollar check so i walked out of the deal with an economical car and cash at the value of 5800 bucks. i think i made out ok. the 2300 is going towards finishing the car and paying off bills which will help out so much
