Question Will CD player play MP3's?

I am getting ready to obtain my late fathers 2001 Ford F150 Lariat. It has a factory installed AM/FM/Cassette/Multi-disc CD player. Does anyone know if this will play CD's encoded as MP3's?

Thanks,
Dee Whitlock

If it doesn't say "MP3" somewhere on the radio itself, then probably not. I'm not sure when they started the MP3 thing in factory radios.

Easiest way to find out is to pop one in there and see what happens.

My 2001 F150 with OEM AM/FM/Single disc CD player does not play MP3s.

Most OEM radios are not MP3 compatible but most aftermarket units are.

Probably not, but you can download a manual here and verify:

Cool oOps!

I didn't even notice the date! I was searching for that very answer. I stuck a mp3 audio CD in this morning and it kept popping back out. Guess that's a NO!

Don't worry, you're not the first one who didn't notice the date of an old thread, and welcome to the forum.
