the truck in my sig sits extremely low it seems. i have people asking me all the time if its 2 or 4 wheel drive. i saw a truck the other day just like mine and it sat way higher but it wasnt lifted. is it the shocks or coil springs up front? the rear seems fine but i know fords sit 2 inches lower in the front anyway. how do i find out what coil springs i have upfront? can i match the spring code up from the door jamb and find out what spring? ill go outaside now and put it on the pad and measure from the ground to the top of the fender well on both sides and see what i get and see what all you guys think.
Mine sits pretty low too.....Just saves me the hassle
I lowered my rear end 2"....Needs about another 1" to sit level....Some trucks are just like that....My dads 92, f150 2wd, same exact truck as mine, except his is a 302, easily sits 3" higher...
An old trick that some people do to lower the front end of a vehicle is to heat up the coil springs with a torch. They get hot, the vehicle drops down on to a block of wood or jackstand set at the height they want, the coils cool down, and viola--the front end of the vehicle is lowered without spending any money on new springs or drop spindles. It's possible that a previous owner did that with your truck to make it look really kewl or something.
True, but I've only 150k on mine. Then again most of that 150k was spent on a ranch. I believe the door tag says something about the suspension, anyone?
