How often do you guys fill up?

I was just wondering, with gas prices they way they are, I was just wondering how often you guys fill up your SD?

These gas prices are haulting my ordering of a truck.

..

And do you guys think they'll ever go back down?

Been putting on about 750-800 miles a week....5.4 with 3.73s. Mondays fill was 129 and then 110 to bring it back up to par yesterday. Prob have to hit it again tuesday or wed. If this were 20 years ago, I simply couldn't afford it...not that I'm any too pleased with it now.
If you don't absolutely need the add'l capacities of an SD have you thought of an F150 eco/boost or 5.0?

It's at least $100 a week. That's $400 a month for gas in one vehicle.

I've been driving the Windstar for a couple weeks now. The SD is only getting used when necessary right now. Lucky for us my wife only has to drive 8 miles to work or the Mountaineer would be sucking us dry too.

Needless to say, the bike will be getting a lot of use this year.

LMS Residential.

I'll never drive 800 miles a week.

I just want a 250. No reason, just to own one lol.

I'll probally fill up once a week if that. Im just using it for personal reasons.

How are you getting that? I can't get above 15-16 max... usually around 14, and thats straight highway.

I work from home... My SD is for trailer haulin' duties during camping season, so it gets short runs here and there... thankfully, I only have to fill it up every two or three weeks.

Will gas come back down? Sure... but not for a while. As soon as that mideast mess stabilizes.

New truck so a pattern has yet to be established.

30 miles round trip to work (2-weeks on/off) for first job. 420 miles for that @ 12.5 city would be 33.6 gallons at $ 4.60 at pumps = $154.56 ($132 @ 3.93)

Did a 1200 mile trip - mostly mountain/highway - average 15.2 but the above is more realistic...

My 2000 F350 diesel got 13.5 around town but diesle is getting near $5 a gallon. Plus I buy gas at bulk for my business so I get it at 3.93...

As for the 2nd half of the question. Yes/No

It's called conditioning us. They will raise it up to a higher price then lower it but not back to where it was last year. They will do this each year and it will always be a little higher then the previous year. When you have a "commidity" that we all need/want they will get away with it.

Depends, I filled up last week sometime, mid week I think, and just shy under 1/2 a tank today. So 1 1/2 weeks on this tank. Truck averages 30-50 miles/day some days way less.

BUT, my g/f drives the truck to her work when I have to work. I work downtown and can't fit the truck anywhere unless I want to pay $15/day to park. So I drive her 06 Monte Carlo to work. She works 15 minutes away from where we live and I work 30 minutes away.

So in all its not too bad. Filling up this 38 gal tank is no fun though. 38 x $3.60 = $136.80...Then add 37" tires and a v10 into it...haha

I'm actually surprised how long this tank has lasted

I feul up usually every 2 or 3 days depending on what jobs are going on. I put on 1000 km last week in one day so theres almost 2 tanks right there. If i didnt need a full size work truck everyday i wouldnt be driving one. Just costs to much if its not needed.

I drive about 600 miles a week and would fill up once a week. Since prices have been skyrocketing though I fill up every day since I know diesel will be more expensive next time I'm in town. (Nearest gas station is about an hour away.)

It depends on how much I drive... Lately it has just been around town to work and back... My major driving has all been in company pickups.

I'm able to fill up only once per month.

About once a month for me too. I've got a VW TDI that is my daily driver, it gets over 50 mpg so unless I NEED to drive my truck it sits in the driveway.

Well, seems I have you all beat. I bought the King Ranch in mid December with 11 miles on the ticker. I have 29980 when I got out of the truck just now. I have a 60 gal tool box/tank in the bed, and I fill up every other day. Fill up is right at $210.00 3-4 times a week. Good thing its a company fuel card.

:-)
