Last weekend it was warm, so I did my spring simple green clean under the hood. I had picked up a led a month earlier and decided now would be a good time to get it going. Here's the good part, I had GPR issues late winter and bought a new one (not a stancor). After I hooked up the LED and tried it it wasn't lighting, checked continuity and reworked a connection (just in case) and tried a couple more times, it finally lit up. During this week I kept an eye on it
but it wasn't going on or else I would get a real quick flash of light and then nothing. So this morning as I was installing my new ICP and HPx (thanks Clay)
I decided to through in a GPR I had in my tool box, guess what the LED is working perfect. This long post is just to remind folks that just because
you throw new parts in does NOT mean your problem isn't that new part
won't be the problem.
I hope this helps someone!
Jeff
Remember something......If the oil temperature is warm (over 131*) the PCM will not command the GPR to energize, so your GPR LED may not always illuminate!
