okay my truck just started doing this just a couple days ago and it seems to be getting worse and worse. even about an hour to 2 hours after I cut it off and will die whenever I go to crank it again after running for a bout 5 seconds and then I have to purge the air out with the starter. i know this is a common problem but i have never had to fix it and have no experience with injectors and stuff can u tell me exactly what i need and how long it will take it to come in the mail i need it running good asap. also the purge system. thanks guys
Are there any visible leaks on the injectors(little plastic caps connected with rubber fuel line)? If so, you need some viton O rings from online and some fuel line from your local auto store. Remember to lube the o-rings first. Your best bet for the line is bringing a sample of you current fuel line and matching it up at the store. I use 5/16 fuel line because it fits nice and tight on the caps. But I think most use 3/8.
Here you go, I went and labeled the injector return lines, these are what causes air intrusion. And you need to pull the old rubber ones off and replace with a simple return line kit for the engine.
Hey bud, having used that kits from pensacola, I don't recommend the it, anything cheap is cheap for a reason. The one from Oreillys don't look bad though.
idk I really need to get this done before monday as my idi is my only transporation lol so i need to just go buy the 60-70 dollar kit from Ford / parts store... is it really that big of a deal to install the viton O-rings? check these out. these these kits are close and I can go buy instead of waiting on shipping. does the BWD look worth the xtra money?
No, even if it did, you should still get extra cause it is bound to start leaking again. Just wait till you get them leak free, you'll feel like you hit the jackpot, lol.
ok so i can just install one of these kits and when it starts leaking again later on down the road ill have some viton O-rings to replace the crappy ones with
Ya, any of those kits will work. Yes you can easily use those other rings at first, thats what I did and got tired of chasing leaks but it should work for the weekend. I don't need to prime my system, Its in perfect order so I have no air intrusion.
