climate control temp too warm
I have my 2000 F350 7.3 and with the climate temp turned all the way 'cold', the air still has some warmth in it. Is there a common problem with the hot/cold damper on these models? I never liked tearing into the area around the heater core, but am willing to do it, as this is our summer family trip cruiser. Ideas? Please help with your suggestions.

There's a mod you can do, search for Ranger ac mod or Ranger heat mod. Basically, before '03 or so, there was no valve that completely shuts off the hot water through the heater core. The mod adds a vacuum valve to shut it off and uses existing vacuum tubing.

Ok, I tried a few searches and I did find discussion about the modification. I'm mad at myself, because I just found something about 20% colder A/C and had wonderful step-by-step photos of the upgrade, but now I can't find it again. Since the mod utilizes vacuum, but on Diesels the vacuum is momentary not constant, what keeps the coolant valve shut or open?
