I have never been able to get more than 22 or so. No matter how heavy I tow, it's not hitting 25 no matter how hard I try.
My 6.4 used to max just under 40. Big difference. Only time I wish I could get more psi is when I am in 6th gear in the manual mode. 6th is really tall and going uphill is not really working out well. Have to go to 5th most of the time to keep the rpm's from dropping below 1000 going uphill.
This being my first diesel, I asked the same question a few months ago in the thread below. There's a couple of good answers in it explaining how this turbo is different from previous PSD's and why we see lower boost.
Someone on here who's way smarter than me will probably have something to say about this...
I always heard it's not about pressure, it's about volume. Just cause the turbo's pushing 20 psi doesn't mean it's substandard to systems that push more pressure. After all, we're making 800 pounds torque with that 20 psi.
